The Active Youth Agency (AYA) is pleased to announce the successful launch of the Interim Reparative Measure (IRM) Project for Survivor Empowerment through Advocacy and Reparation (SEAR) in Bor County, Jonglei State.

A three-day inception workshop, funded by the Global Survivors Fund, was conducted to formally kick off the project. The workshop brought together project teams, steering committee members, government representatives, and other key stakeholders from across Jonglei State.
The sessions focused on:
- -Introducing the SEAR
- -project objectives and expected outcomes.
- -Clarifying the roles and responsibilities of different actors in implementation.
- -Strengthening coordination mechanisms between AYA, state authorities, and partners.
- -Building a shared understanding of survivor-centered approaches to advocacy and reparation.
The SEAR project is designed to empower survivors by amplifying their voices, advancing reparative measures, and ensuring meaningful participation in decision-making processes. It also seeks to strengthen advocacy efforts and improve access to justice and accountability mechanisms.
Stakeholders welcomed the initiative and expressed strong support for its implementation, noting its significance in addressing the urgent needs of survivors in Jonglei State.
The launch marks an important milestone in AYA’s ongoing commitment to survivor empowerment and inclusive reparative solutions in South Sudan.
AYA is implementing the SEAR in two locations, Mundri and Bor South Sudan.
