From the Office of the Executive Director, Active Youth Agency (AYA)

To Our Esteemed Partners, Friends, and Potential Donors,

On behalf of the Active Youth Agency (AYA), I extend a heartfelt appeal to the international community, development partners, philanthropic organizations, and all those committed to building a just, inclusive, and empowered South Sudan.

Our nation today stands at a critical crossroads. Decades of conflict, displacement, and systemic marginalization have left countless young people, persons with disabilities, and vulnerable communities without access to the opportunities and dignity they deserve. At AYA, we are working tirelessly at the grassroots level to transform this reality — but we cannot succeed alone.

We urgently seek your support to expand our work in the following priority areas:

  1. Disability Inclusion: Promoting equal rights, dignity, and access to essential services for persons with disabilities who continue to face discrimination and exclusion.

  2. Youth Build Programs: Providing vocational training, leadership development, and employment opportunities to empower young people as drivers of peace and development.

  3. Child Protection and GBV Prevention: Safeguarding children from abuse, neglect, and exploitation, while creating safe spaces that foster education, growth, and healing.

  4. Livelihood Development: Supporting vulnerable households with sustainable income-generating opportunities to fight poverty and strengthen resilience.

  5. Civic Education: Building informed, responsible, and active citizens who can meaningfully engage in governance, democracy, and peace-building.

  6. Health Education: Raising awareness on critical health issues, including hygiene, reproductive health, and disease prevention, particularly in undeserved communities.

Our work is community-led, evidence-based, and rooted in the lived experiences of those we serve. Every contribution — whether financial or technical — brings tangible change, transforming lives and fostering hope where it is most needed.

I therefore call upon governments, donors, foundations, and individual champions of justice to join hands with us. Stand with South Sudan’s youth, persons with disabilities, the displaced, and the marginalized. Let us remember: your support is not charity, it is an investment in peace, dignity, and the future of South Sudan.

Together, we can build a nation where no one is left behind.

With determination and hope,

Mr. Repent Woroh Odrande
Executive Director
Active Youth Agency (AYA)
