Active Youth Agency (AYA), in partnership with the Global Survivors Fund (GSF), has officially launched phase II Interim Reparative Measure (IRM) workshop in Mundri, Western Equatoria State. The workshop marks a significant milestone in the implementation of survivor-centered reparations for victims of conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV) in South Sudan.

The workshop brought together key project stakeholders including the IRM-Steering Committee members, case workers, Project Officer, Project Manager, Program Manager, and AYA’s Executive Director, Mr. Repent Woroh Odrande. It was facilitated by the GSF Coordinator for South Sudan Sidonia Achan.

The core focus areas of the workshop include:

  • Understanding individual IRM choices for CRSV survivors.

  • Discussing implementation modalities for Phase II of the IRM project.

  • Strengthening follow-up and accompaniment strategies by case workers.

  • Reviewing risk management frameworks.

  • Introducing the concept of collective IRM interventions.

Speaking during the opening, Mr. Repent Woroh Odrande emphasized AYA’s commitment to advancing survivor-led and trauma-informed approaches to reparations, stating:
“We believe in empowering survivors through meaningful participation and practical support that addresses their urgent needs and restores dignity.”

The workshop will lay the groundwork for a more effective, inclusive, and sustainable reparative framework for survivors in the Mundri. AYA and GSF remain committed to ensuring survivors are at the heart of every step taken.
